Three people have been killed in a crash on Highway 407 near Mississauga Road, Peel paramedics say.
All of the victims were pronounced dead on the scene.
The collision between a vintage car and a motor coach occurred at around 3 p.m. in Brampton.
OPP Sgt. Vincent Idzenga told reporters that a 1948 Chevrolet was travelling westbound in the far-right lane and "sustained a tire issue ... to the right rear tire and as a result of this mechanical issue the vehicle lost control" and swerved into the inner left lane.
The coach bus then "T-boned" the Chevrolet, and "as a result of that impact the [Chevrolet] burst into flames," Idzenga said, adding the car veered into the right ditch and rolled.
Two passersby vehicles stopped to help and managed pull two adult males from the car. Police did not disclose any information about the third victim.
The coach bus was carrying 49 passengers in addition to the driver, and sustained only "minor front-end damage," according to the OPP. No other vehicles were involved and "there were no indications of any speed issues or any other factors."
The collision kept all westbound lanes of Highway 407 closed from Mavis Road to Mississauga Road through much of the afternoon and evening; the road reopened just after 9 p.m.
That's just horrible.. Really horrible.. looks like a whole family..It's like a part of our family of rodders.. Be safe out there and make sure your ride is safe . Good time for all to make sure we have safe tires. It is something we can easily over look. Tires still look good treadwise but if they are over 6 years old they are probably unsafe.. Prayers for the family and friends..

There is no elevator to success — you have to take the stairs.
To add to Chucks advise, an item often overlooked is a safe scrub line, in other words if you blow a tire will the rim hold the suspension high enough to prevent any part of it or the frame, front or rear, from digging into the asphalt. Our prayers are with the family and friends.
Before jumping to too many conclusions he may have run over something on the highway. I don't travel very much on 407 or any of the other GTA roads but I have never seen so much junk on the roads in the last while.
It could very well be that he hit something, unavoidable, that caused a blowout.
It must have been devastating for those folks who rushed to help them out the of car. Heroes in my book.
So sorry for the family, prayers and condolences to all. A fellow here had a similar experience when his 58 Chev wagon suddenly turned sideways on the 417 outside Arnprior and was T boned. He sustained injuries and much hospital time but is in good shape now.
I can definitely see how this could have happened, I was towing a truck from Huntsville a few years ago, wheel came off and stayed in the wheel well, making the truck swerve wildly, almost put me off the road. the jeep swung right out beside me, thankfully no other cars were coming or they would have bought it. pretty awful thing to happen for sure.
