Last Friday morning John, Jack, Dave, Warren and Randy climbed into the pickup towing the 5th wheel and left for Rhinebeck NY for the Goodguys meet. Travelling along I-90, The GPS told us to turn off and head south. We followed her instructions for about 1.5 hours until we figured that was the third time we were passing a particular gravel pit. Luckily we finally came upon a human who directed us back to Hwy 90 where we kinda started over again. The meet itself was pretty lame but we had enough beer to numb our souls. Rained a bit on Saturday but otherwise the weather was great. I like wagons and saw a few that caught my eye.
The owner of this Merc bought it new in 1963
When ever we do one of these trips, I always like to throw in a surprise destination. We left the RV park Monday morning and headed home but I suddenly left I-90 and shortly thereafter the guys figured we were lost again until we showed up at the door of 'Rolling Bones'. A rather simple barn that housed some awesome builds. They particularly like Y blocks and when they fired the one in 560, we knew why, the town shook. We talked for about an hour and then thought we should let them get back to work. They build such beautiful machines and get paid for having so much fun.
We arrived home late Monday night, I won't post any after pictures, but a great time was had by all.
Thanks for the trip Warren.. I looked at all the pictures a couple times. I couldn't find a car that I didn't like.. They are all awesome and some were even nicer...
