Many of you may know me from another site. I got into this rodding game in 1960, building a small block powered 1928 Tudor, getting it on the street in '63. By '65 The car was completely trans-formed into a C altered that ran under the banner 'The Village Idiot'. That year I also acquired a 1932 Bantam coupe which by '67 was a completed street rod painted by Ken Kaye. That year I got married and dispersed my life. I played with factory toys over the years and then in '87 I bought a 1962 Cutlass which over the years received a total make over, well built aluminum V8, T5, four wheel disk brakes, redesigned cooling system that worked, perfect suspension, body, paint and interior. The new millennium brought a yearning to re-create 'The Village Idiot', but after several years of searching, I found the original car had been restored to full fendered including putting the chop back in. That was dead and now it was time to build something new yet something old. Behold 'Dog Spit'. Five years later it showed up at Detroit Autorama and received the Street Shaker award from Street Rodder magazine. The car has since appeared in several rodding publications. That was 2015, shortly after I left for Alaska and the car sat for 6 months. In October, on the way to cruise night, the engine hydrolocked and bent a rod. Over the winter I installed another engine, this time a high compression 4 bbl 5 litre aluminum engine. Over the past few weeks I have been wringing it out and finally made it to cruise night tonight. It's been a long 6 years. Last year when I went to Alaska, I came back by way off the Queen Charlotte islands where I picked up a new chassis. I had reacquired the Bantam body and partnering with my oldest friend, we are building a nostalgia altered powered by a Chev/Pontiac 261. The car should be out for shake down at the Armdrop this fall and running consistently by next Spring. I am 72 years old and live in Prince Edward County. When I am here, the shop is always open to visitors. I love to talk cars.
hey warren glad to see you here, welcome. i think the bantam should be a lot of fun in next year's shannonville nostalgia series. come out and take a close look at billy's suspension - the same design should be killer on the bantam.
