The Western Ontario Outlaws Lawn Tractor Racing Club.

Racing season is starting!  Our first race is Sunday May 29 at 2:00 p.m. at the Outlaw Mower Speedway, Petrolia.  Bring a lawnchair and enjoy the fun.  Just $5/person to get in, children 10 and under are free.

The Western Ontario Outlaws support the Petrolia Food Bank.  Donations of non-perishable food items will be accepted at all of our races.  Thank you for your contributions!

    about2about1The Western Ontario Outlaws Lawnmower Racing Club was founded in 2007 by Garry Kerr (President), Ryan Kerr (Vice President) both of Petrolia, and Tim Inchley (Treasurer) of Sarnia with valuable assistance from Rod Easton.  The club holds races at county fairs  as well as at local tracks in South Western Ontario.

    Lawnmower racing is a fun, family friendly event and alcohol-free.  Our club has racers ages 5 to 75, both male and female. We are a non-profit club that donates annually to charity.  This  year we will be supporting the Petrolia Food Bank.

    Lawnmower racing is popular in the U.S. but the sport is catching on in Canada. There’s no prize money in the sport, called the “poor man’s NASCAR,” and machines can reach 160 km/h with engines having from 8 to 90 horsepower and cost from $500 to $5,000 to build depending on the racing class.

    We now have a home track at 4120 Oil Heritage Line in Petrolia, Ontario.  Races will be held every two weeks from May 25th to October 5th at 2:00 p.m.  Admission is $5.00/person, kids 10 and under free.

I am going to take my grand kids to this.. It's under an hour drive for me and I have never been to see lawn mower races..seems like it might be fun.. I will bring my camera if I go ..smile

I'm still trying to wrap my head around 160 km/h on a lawnmower, some days I can hardly keep my Cub Cadet on the front yard......
