good videos i was in autoglass for 20 years and was doing all RM restoration work and i have cut a ton of glass over the years but good for others to see
thanks bob
Cutting glass when doing a chop is a real good skill ..I have done a couple of flat glass chops.., but I have broke many trying to get it done ..Those I have done were pure luck..Working with RM must have been a great opportunity ..They have some great auctions of cars at the international centre in the spring and fall..The auctions are great entertainment..

Thanks for posting that Chuck I never thought of using a piece of old measuring tape.I should of thought of that for the number of times I've cut my hand on a cracked tape. I've always used a single sided blade but they are a little thick to get in the cut far enough to cut the lamminate
Isn't the internet great ..We sure never had any of this when we were young enough and full of vinegar when we were doing this..I am past that part of my life for the most part..I can't help but think how different things would have been for us with all the info and tools we have to-day..I know lots of us think of harbour freight or princess auto has a lot of offshore tools and junk but they have made our hobby a lot more within our reach for tools that we often just use a few times to build our own toys but none of this stuff was available to us..Our choices were limiter to CTC and the tools were such junk.. Way worse than what's available for us now..I wish I was 25 years younger and had never heard the word arthritis.. Every thing we did on body stuff was with a set of torches .. lots of flux to bubble the paint a year later..I think this generation has it made.. Some decent skills today and you can accomplish many things on our own rides..I think it is great but I am too stinking old and the pain steals the pleasure and it takes to long to heal..

i have cut windshields down for projects before it is always a chance it mite break your best option is to stat with new glass as old glass becomes brittle and will incease the chance of not breaking were you wish
thanks bob
I would of thought a guy with talent like you have showed would do it himself
Just something to think about,, the side glass can be ordinary glass of correct thickness, cut, ground and then glass shops (London Glass and Mirror) can have it tempered. By not using laminated you won't get the exposed edge when you wind the window down
