Just wanted to say hello and thanks for letting me join the site.  Work kept me from playing with my toys for a few years, but I'm ready to get back to enjoying this hobby and maybe even finish some things I started.

I own a 1940 chevy coupe that been mostly sitting for the past five years. (or longer)  Other than a trip in and out of the trailer a few times a year. It's time for some updates and drive time this summer.

I also own a 1952 Chevy 3100. I got a good start to it, but it's just another thing I need to get back at. I'm making time this year for it, so with any luck, it will look better before next year at this time.

Hello Larry.

Let me be the first one to welcome you..Nice coupe.. Must be retiring or retired and finding some time to play on your toys..I shut my shop down last year and now I am wondering how I ever found the time to work..I am settling in to getting up an hr later and spending to long here every morning and drinking cold coffee..With spring coming and as I look out the window I can see way to much work to do around the yard..before I dig my coupe out and give it a going over.. Glad to have you and looking forward to some chatter down the road,,Don't be a lurker chime in , the site is only a couple months old, so we are new but so far we have a great group growing so please participate. If you need any help with the site or have any suggestions let me know and we will try to accommodate.

Chuk

Real nice car but guess I am a little biased.. How long have you owned it? Had mine 38 years this coming May. Like those early Chevy pickups as well. Looks like a nice shop to work in. Enjoy the site and chime in any time. It's open 24/7.

Thanks GM Dad.  That's a classy ride you have as well. I guess I've had old Buella since 1990. 26 years... I feel old now doing the math.  I picked it up at an equipment auction in Sand Hill Ontario.  I had no intention on buying a car when took the day off to attend, but there it was. All sad looking needing a new home. Lucky for me, not many people seemed very interested and it was the first item sold that day.  When I got home that night, my wife asked what I bought.. When I told her I bough a car, I got that eye roll look.. lol.  When she saw it for the first time, she said "Your not selling it".

Since then we done all the thing we car people do. M2 front kit, I built a 350, new wheels, 4 speed t10.  Still a work in progress, but we did drive it for 10 years.

Thanks toomuchjunk.  Nice little truck you got there. I helped my best friend with some of the build of his 40 ford pickup.  If I can find a pic of it, I will sent it along.. He's a chevy guy, so I had so much fun jabbing him about building a ford he put a chevy 350 motor in it and his licence plate say CHEVD. lol.

I actually bought mine as an original car from swap meet in Dunkirk. I was building a 1920151019_153213.JPG40 Ford sedan and went over looking for parts for it. Two of my buddies with me. One loaned me some Cdn money and the other loaned me some American money and I wrote a cheque for the balance and then had to buy a tow bar to get the car home. My wife was in the hospital we thought for a check up but my son was born 9:00 the next morning. We fixed the brakes and exhaust and I picked my family up at the hospital the next week with it. It has taken my son to Grade 8 grad, high school grad, college prom and his wedding 6 years ago but biggest thrill was him bringing his son home from the hospital with the same car last Oct. Guess it's staying in the family.

Great story and history GMDAD. Now that's what you call a family car if I ever heard of one.

Larry thanks for the words but I have to admit that's a downloaded picture. All my pictures are in my old ill computer and I needed an avatar. I also thought it might be a bit of a inspiration for me. Mine is also a hybrid with a SBC and a 700R
