Who's there? Chunks of my timing gear.

I had a minor knocking noise since I bought the car and finally pulled the pan off to have a look at things. Considering it's an engine with no oil filter I kinda thought it's quite clean inside. Pan had some sludge but there's suppose to be some in there. But I was scrounging through the bottom pan and found some teeth from the timing gear. I don't think it's all the difficult of a job to replace hopefully get a new gear soon.

Oh, oh, that's what you get for running it up to 7500rpm.

I was kinda surprised by the shape of the lobes on the cam... no duration at all - just a sharp point!

Got the gear in... had a minor freak out - the cam moved after I knocked the old gear off - had trouble getting everything clocked properly again. But once I took the rad off and could see what I was doing it was much easier! Mad a little tool to get the timing gear nut off.

gotta put check the cam and make sure everything still looks ok after it moved on me - but time to put things back together I guess and hopefully it all works.
