2 stroke Johnson 3 cyl dies under throttle

Went to take the grand kids out today and the engine would not run off idle, ran great last week. When put in gear it just chucked and chattered and would not increase in RPM then would die. Runs good with choke on but when put in gear with choke off it runs like crap. Any ideas? I am going to pull the plugs out. Thanks

Sounds like too much air.
Reed valve stuck open?
