That's just sad if that's all it's worth. I have one sitting with a few other sbc wondering what to do with it.

I agree. I have several parts that I am clearing out. They used to be desirable and have some what of a value. Not anymore??

I have a couple 283's also. Both are basically good to go and complete. No, not rebuilt etc, prolly a crapload of miles..

When I bought them, I had this fantastic Idea I'd be retired at age 22 building the GM screamer 302's.

Clearly, that didn't work out. Ha ! A buddy has 2 more I gave him years ago. Those 2 were yanked and stored also, but if they are still there, I'd be surprised.

Unless you're restoring a car that came with the little fella, they would be a boat anchor IMO.

Don't get me wrong. They are awesome engines and almost impossible to kill, almost like an AMC, but not. Ha !

Supernash I agree with you. They are fifty year old engines that have had there day. It's just a shame that some of the ones I have will most likely be going for scrap.

Funny story how I got my 327.... A friend of mine worked part time doing yard cleanup for people. He calls me telling me about a rotted out old boat on a job he was working and wanted to know if I could help him get rid of it. I wasn't very interested until he said it has a sbc motor in it. All he wanted was for me to tow the old slug to my place and he would keep the trailer. I did that. He stripped all metal and glass from it and I got the motor and out drive. I took my old crawler loader and pushed out a hole. Ran over the boat a few times and pushed what was left into the hole. It made for a great fire pit.

i have 1 maybe 2 but i don't know the numbers. over the years if i came across anything 327 and the price was right i bought it and put it away thinking the 327 was the ones to have. i would think the 363 number would be desirable also for the nova's as it appears these 3 numbers, 363-721-362 are the only 327 ones specific to the nova and from what i have learned snooping is that the 721 is the holy grale.  i know the last complete one i picked up was from a stock car buddy who had it in his barn for future use but they went to the built the same and sealed motors so i scooped it. i'm pretty sure he told me it was out of an old impala and it turned over.

good luck jr finding one but they will be out there somewhere and you will never know till you ask.

i had something very similar also 40 but they were 427's in an old carver or trogan boat. i heard them run sitting in the water but his focus was on restoring the structure not knowing the motors were somewhat desirable in the car world. the one motor turned counter clock-wise but that's fixable. he worked on it for 3 or 4 years but got frustrated and sold it. i regret not telling him if he ever got rid of it to let me know. it was one of those situations where you put the info in your mental bank for possible future withdrawal sort of thing.  if you snooze you lose, lol. i heard it went to the bowmanville area.

i have 1 more maybe 2 but he odds of them #'s is probably slim to none. i know a guy who might, maybe, i will send him a line and let you know. i wouldn't quit buying lottery tickets as the the odds will be similar, lol. i didn't realize those blocks were so model specific, humph.

GM used that block for 302-327-350 depending on crankshaft. That's a good score!!!
