Anyone know where there may be a 348 chevy engine for sale ?? Or if someone has one that is looking for a sbc 300 HP 327 ( complete with all brand new components, including Hedman Headers ) 2,218 miles since complete rebuild that may be interested in a swap / trade + cash. 327 can be heard running,.and test driven. No interest in anything that I can't hear running. Thanks in advance.

SORRY Frank,..I apologize for this. I see you posted this question to me back in November, ( I can never remember to hit the " Alert to posts / responses, " tab on my posts ),..and half the time I am missing responses from fellow members.

I had a line on ( two ) 348's on Kijiji,...sent the seller an email, asking if they were truck engines,..and the price,...I see he did make an adjustment, and added a statement to his original add that they were NOT truck engines,...but he never did get back to me with a price.

I am in between a rock and a hard place with the '62 right now,..as I am seriously thinking that if I can't come up with a car that my wife likes ( and will drive ),...I may pull out the 4 gear and components and pick up a fresh built 350 Turbo tranny, and necessary parts to make the swap to an automatic,..which would have to include an original '62 Chev steering column out of an automatic donor car also, as the original column in the car now has no place to even install a shift lever on it. Finding those parts could promote a big enough problem,..then besides the car being a 4 speed,..her other issues with it now is she has decided that the fact that she can't see the passenger side front fender very well, ( she is vertically challenged ) may be an issue with trying to park it,.and she doesn't like the size ( diameter ) of the original steering wheel,..so I would have to order up a new Grant,...or laccera steering wheel and adopter too. She wants a damn '55 or '56 Ford,..so I am going to give it until March to see if I can come up with one of those for her, if not, I will do the auto tanny swap, and leave the 327 in it as there is no way I want her behind the wheel of a "good working" 348 engine. I was thinking if I coud find a 348 I may do the engine swap and keep the '62 for myself,..and just buy her the car she wants,..using the ca$h I have ear marked for doing a build on a street rod for myself. Again,..Sorry about the late response,...I wasn't ignoring your post,...I just didn't know it was there.

Wayne

LOL,...what I want rochie is to find her a real decent '55 / '56 Ford to swap / trade the '62 on, and save me a lot of labour plus spending more money on the Biscayne switching it over to an automatic transmission for her. The wife absolutely refuses to drive the damn thing because of the 4 speed tranny, plus other issues ( because she is vertically challenged ),...she loves going to cruise nights of which I am not a big fan of so trying to find something that she does like and will drive on her own. Have had plenty of trade offers, but nothing she would want, or could handle in some cases.

Wayne

Yeah,...I'm in no rush,...have it tucked away for the winter, maybe something will come up that she wil be happy with between now and next cruise season.

I would suggest going to www.348-409.com and asking there. Great bunch of guys that are always there to help. May be something just south of border or perhaps in your home town. I don't know of any around Cobourg area but my own.

Shawn
