Tranny cooler lines

Just about ready to move forward again.  I think that I need to install hoses next.  For a 700R4 trans what do I ask for in cooler lines.  I know where they go in but what size/type of fitting do I need?  Should I use hard lines or flex?

5/16" steel line. Should be inverted flare on both ends. Will depend on your rad.

Good Morning Marten: great looking day here to-day..

Question? Is the engine and transmission installed and sitting where it will live.? If it is then you can make the lines. Is the rad at least mocked up, Are you using the cooler in the rad or a separate cooler.. You will use hard lines. Probably either 1/4 or 5/16 hard line . Fittings, Is there any fittings in the trans now ,they should be in the holes ..If not you will have to figure out the size ..I don't know what combination of engine/trans you are installing..

I was noticing they do have flexible braided cooler lines available.. I have not had ant experience with braided cooler lines. I expect they would be easier to work with but they would have to well secured every 18 inchs or so..

Chuk,

Is that engine and trans in your shop? or a pic off the net?

I need to do the same for my car, I will be installing a trans cooler.
I have the tools to flare the lines.

Where can I get that line bracket on the side of the engine?

Those hoses appear to be aluminum, or are they steel?

Frank: That was just a picture I grabbed on line for Marten just to give him a Visual Of what they might look like.. If your going to a swap you need to find the clipman guy He may not have those billet style but he will have the factory style I am sure .. I am pretty sure you could find the aluminum or billet ones on line.. I have some of the factory style. I will try to remember when I go out the shop this morning to put a couple aside and I will post you a picture I am not sure how many I have you really only need two I think. They bolt to the pan bolts.. if I have a few I will give you two..I will get back to you on them..

Chuk,
Not to worry about the clips. Just looking at the one posted, I can make that.
